Portland Greater Goods Opens a CBD Products Store

Greater Goods

As great as it is to be able to buy your CBD at the Gas ‘n’ Sip—and it is, really—you may want your CBD offerings to be produced and presented in a slightly more…Pacific Northwesterly manner.

Artisan. Organic. Small batch. Women positive/owned. Innovative. And probably bearded. A place you can go when you want to know more about the products, the producers, and names of the hemp plants grown to produce your CBD.

Friends, I have some goods news.

You may remember Carrie Solomon and Jody Ake, the wife and husband team who founded Leif Goods in 2014. Leif makes THC-infused sweets, including Marshmallow Bon Bons covered in small-batch THC-spiked chocolate, AKA what I will live on in the afterlife.

Their expertise in Oregon cannabis chocolates has set the bar, and they have a new shop and brand opening to allow them to do the same with CBD.

Greater Goods is both a production center with a see-through 1,600-foot kitchen and packaging facility, and a retail shop that offers product samplings, tea and coffee service, and educational resources.

You want to watch people make the edibles you’re about to place into your mouth-hole? Of course you do, and now you can.

As Solomon and Ake put it, “Greater Goods is on a mission to rescue the world from the mundane and free the masses from the conventional expectations of CBD.”

This rescue mission includes a variety of organic chocolate bars and confections in both vegan and non-vegan options, meaning you can now hook up those in your circle who reply to every gift of food with, “Oh, um, thank you. Is it vegan, because, you see, I’m a vegan.” Yes, Alexandra, we know, and yes, they are.

The products are made with organically cultivated, full-spectrum hemp oil, and include a CBD version of the aforementioned Marshmallow Bon Bons, along with Mint Hibiscus, Mocha Crunch, and Orange Ginger chocolate bars, each with 100 milligrams of CBD. Truffles will be joining the lineup soon.

The Greater Goods store opens this Thursday, October 24 at 1323 SE 7th, and they are starting with limited hours and days: Wednesday through Friday, noon to 6 pm, so schedule accordingly.
