For the last five years, I was the “Senior Cannabis Columnist and Correspondent” for the Portland Mercury newspaper in Portland, Oregon. I was syndicated to two other newspapers – The Seattle Stranger, and The Source Weekly in Bend, Oregon, along with writing for, and Dope magazine.

In March 2020, COVID-19 devastated independent newspapers, resulting in massive reductions, including mine.

This site is searchable for the 600 plus pieces I’ve written over the past five years. All the content from 2019 and 2020 is live, 170+ pieces, with work from 2015 through 2018 added daily in the “From the Archives” section.

New content will be added 1-3x a week, including the role cannabis and CBD play during a pandemic, and how the industry is responding as the crisis goes on.

Stoned Streaming

I’ve added a section on live streaming music related shows, with a listing of friends who are doing daily, weekly or occasional streaming shows, Q and A sessions, DJ sets, etc.

These labels, artists and bands need your support more than ever, so if you like what you hear, please tip if you can, buy merch, stream them, follow them on social media, etc.

All the ad space is being donated to artists, labels, venues and our cannabis and CBD product partners we have worked with over the years.

When I’m not writing about cannabis, I’m producing events and projects as Oregon’s Cannabis Concierge, which operates in Oregon, California, Washington and Colorado. Some of the events include Weed The People, Green Friday, The Summer Fair, Weed Industry Night, Puff Puff Pour, and Toke Talks among others.

Our decades of work in the music industry with Backstage Budtending is also well covered there and on IG, including a 2019 profile by Pollstar magazine.

The site is free, I’m not trying to sell anything/solicit a donation, nor do I want your email address. If you enjoy it, please share on social media, and come back often to see what’s going on.
